CBCT® for Faculty/Staff at the Emory School of Medicine
CBCT® (Cognitively Based Compassion Training) is a research-based contemplative approach to training and sustaining compassion.
The course will be taught by the developer of CBCT, Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Ph.D, and John William (Bill) Eley, MD, MPH. Dr. Negi is the Executive Director of the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University (Emory Compassion Center) and a Teaching Professor in the Department of Religion. Dr. Eley is the Executive Associate Dean of Medical Education and Student Affairs at the School of Medicine.
In collaboration with Emory School of Medicine, the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics sponsors the CBCT course each semester for faculty and staff of the School of Medicine.
All CBCT School of Medicine courses are free of charge. Please use your Emory/professional email when registering to ensure eligibility.

CBCT® for Students at the Emory School of Medicine
In collaboration with Emory School of Medicine, the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics offers CBCT® (Cognitively Based Compassion Training) courses each semester for SOM students. Two courses are offered: one on Mondays, and another on Tuesdays. Dr. Ellen Coggeshall will teach the fall 2024 courses.
All CBCT School of Medicine courses are sponsored by the SOM and are free of charge. You must be a student at the Emory School of Medicine to register. Please use your Emory email address when registering to verify eligibility.
